The California Working Group on Jews in the Maghrib and the Middle East (Cal JeMM) is an intellectual community that brings together scholars from a range of disciplines specializing in the study of Jews in the Middle East and North Africa from medieval to modern times.
We are generously funded by UCLA, UC Irvine, UC Berkeley, UC Santa Cruz, the Casden Institute at the University of Southern California, and Stanford. Past funding has also come from the UC Berkeley Center for Middle Eastern Studies, UC Davis, and the American Academy for Jewish Research.
